What is Random List Picker?
This tool makes fair random choices from your own list: names for a giveaway, tasks for a stand-up, teams to split, questions for a quiz. Each line is one entry; blank lines are ignored.
Choose to pick a number of winners or to shuffle the whole list. Picks are made without replacement by default, so nobody wins twice, and you can merge identical lines into one entry. The shuffle is a Fisher–Yates shuffle driven by crypto.getRandomValues, which gives every possible ordering the same probability. Click Draw again to redraw.
How does it work?
- Paste your list with one item per line.
- Choose Pick winners (and how many) or Shuffle the whole list.
- Press Draw. Press it again for a completely independent new result.

Limitations
The draw happens on your device and cannot be audited by others. For an official contest, follow the rules that apply to you and keep a record of the list and how the draw was made.
Frequently asked questions
Is the draw fair?
Yes. Each entry has exactly the same chance, using secure randomness and unbiased selection (no modulo bias, no Math.random).
What if the same name appears twice?
Each line counts as one entry, so a duplicated name has two chances. Tick "Treat identical lines as one entry" to give each distinct name a single chance.
Can the same person win twice?
Not by default. Untick "Each line can win only once" to draw with replacement, where repeated winners are possible.
